AB Mauri Food Inc., Starts Marketing Itself as AB Mauri Fleischmann’s to Strengthen Its Brand Positioning and Better Reflect the Portfolio of Product Offerings

(Chesterfield, Missouri… February 25, 2009) Fleischmann's Yeast and Innovative Cereal Systems, which are both parts of AB Mauri Food Inc., will align under the new corporate banner of AB Mauri Fleischmann's effective September 1, 2009.

Positioning the sales and marketing strategies under one umbrella is a natural evolution for the business. The complete portfolio includes Fleischmann’s Yeast products, AB Mauri Bakery Ingredients, and ICS enzyme based technologies. Fleischmann's Yeast is a strong and trusted brand in North America, and AB Mauri has global capabilities that benefit the baking industry.

Andrew Armstrong, President of AB Mauri Fleischmann’s states, “In recognition of the unique business model that Innovative Cereal Systems delivers, we will continue to commercially support the existing model with ICS as a sub-brand of AB Mauri Bakery Ingredients. History of Fleischmann’s Yeast/AB Mauri and Innovative Cereal Systems

In 2004, Associated British Foods formed the AB Mauri division to incorporate the acquisition of Burns Philp’s global yeast businesses, including Fleischmann’s Yeast and some existing bakery ingredient businesses within the group.

AB Mauri encompasses six geographic regions around the globe, including Fleischmann’s Yeast and Innovative Cereal Systems in North America. Through its unique approach to the opportunities and issues facing today’s bakers, it has delivered success for its customers in some of the world’s most demanding markets.

In 2005, AB Mauri acquired Innovative Cereal Systems which operated as a stand-alone business until it formally reported into AB Mauri Food Inc., effective September 2007. Innovative Cereal Systems (ICS) brings the highest quality total solution package available to the North American baking industry and this package will be further strengthened with ICS Softase, Rotox and Fermentase being specific categories under the AB Mauri Bakery Ingredient line of products. These brands will continue to be supported by world class bakery technicians.

The new combined company, AB Mauri Fleischmann’s, is a market leader in yeast and baking ingredient technology. The company, headquartered in Chesterfield, Missouri, with five manufacturing plants in North America, sells yeast under the Fleischmann’s® Yeast brand name and bakery ingredient solutions, including enzyme solutions, powdered dough improver systems, tablet dough improver systems, leaveners, mold inhibitors, syrups & malts, vinegars & acidulants,under the AB Mauri® brand name.
